Rebuilding the Reconstructable House

The final proof of feasibility was entirely successful!

In summer 2024 we disassembled in Courgenay, canton Jura and assembled the reconstructable house in les Planchettes, canton Neuchâtel.

The building will serve as reception for the new ecological camping place.

The move

This was the house in the first site before unmounting.

This is what remained of the house after disassembling:

Both disassembling and reassembling has been done by hand only, without heavy machines. All elements have been reused, including the isolation material:

Also the solar power system was 1:1 reused.

Conclusion

Both the 0 waste and 0 carbon principle have been fulfilled. The principle of reconstructability has been fully confirmed.

That’s why the construction of the Reconstructable House is worlds ahead of conventional building methods in terms of its environmental footprint.

Outlook

The new owner of the house was so happy with the house that he ordered also the cube house which we will mount in summer this year
